The Story Of Lee's Headquarters Paperback Book

93 Page Paperback Book

On the crest of Seminary Ridge, just north of the Chambersburg Pike, stands a small one-and-a-half story stone house, known today as General Lee's Headquarters.  During the Civil War this house was owned by Thaddeus Stevens, an influential and powerful Republican Congressman from Pennsylvania.  Living in the house at the time was a 69 year old widow named Mary Thompson.  During the first day of the battle, this stone house would be in the midst of a fierce and bloody struggle, one of which may have been the Confederates finest hour at Gettysburg.
